5" Mushroom Frit Hand Pipe: A Spotted Cap on the Business End

Mushroom glass has a way of getting picked up off the counter first. This one leans into it with a spotted cap you actually smoke from.

Pack the bowl loosely (a medium grind works best), cover the carb, light the top and draw through the cap. Let go of the carb near the end to clear the neck.

Care and Cleaning

We tap out ash after each session and soak the pipe in 91% isopropyl alcohol with coarse salt when the neck starts to cloud. Rinse in warm water and let it dry fully.

Warning: Let the glass cool before it touches water. A hot head under a cold tap can crack. No dishwasher.

No, the frit is fused into the head and the outside is smooth, glossy glass. Frit is crushed colored glass melted onto the surface, so it reads as speckled color but feels like regular glass. The inside of the bowl has the same smooth finish.

How long is the mushroom pipe?

It's 5 inches long from the cap to the back of the bowl head. That's a little longer than a pocket spoon, so smoke has more tube to travel before it reaches you. It still fits in a bag pocket or a padded case for trips.

Why is the middle of the pipe clear?
