Five inches is where a spoon stops feeling like a travel piece and starts feeling like a real pipe. There's room to hold it with your whole hand, and the smoke has a little more distance to cool before it reaches you.
This one wraps that size in stripes. Thin lines of colored glass spiral down the stem like a barber pole, over a body tinted with frit. We picked it for people who want their everyday pipe to look like it came off a torch, not a factory line.
What Makes This Striped Spoon Different
Linework that wraps. The stripes are thin rods of colored glass twisted around the stem while it's hot, so they're part of the pipe and won't wear off.
Two clear marbles. A pair of small glass marbles (plain clear glass, so the stripes stay the star) sits on the side of the head. They give your fingers a landmark and help keep the pipe from rolling on a table.
A comfortable 5 inch length. Long enough for a full grip and a cooler pull, short enough for a jacket pocket. It's the size most of our team reaches for at home.
Colors and Options
Red is a cherry frit body with pale silver-blue stripes.
Green is a lime body with blue and white stripes (bright, a little loud, very fun).
Periwinkle is a soft blue-violet body with red and white stripes.
Peach is a warm pinkish body with blue and white stripes.
Amber is a deep brown-orange body with blue stripes.
Black is a dark body with blue stripes and white sparkle frit, and it hides resin longest.
Every pipe is hand-worked, so stripe spacing and frit spread vary a little piece to piece.

The 5" Color Frit & Linework Hand Pipe is a 5 inch borosilicate glass spoon with a frit body, spiral linework stripes, two clear marbles and a side carb. It comes in Red, Green, Periwinkle, Peach, Amber or Black and is made for dry herb.
How to Use It
We pack the bowl loosely with ground flower, cover the carb, and light the edge while drawing slowly (no need to torch the whole bowl). Let go of the carb near the end to clear the stem.
Pro Tip: Rest the pipe on its marbles between hits, bowl up. Ash stays put and the warm bowl doesn't sit on your table.
Who It's For
Stripe fans: You like linework and want more than one color on your pipe.
Couch smokers: A full-hand grip and cooler pulls suit long evenings at home.
Color collectors: Six options means you can grab two and still not double up (our team has tried).
Worth Noting: Five inches is still a dry pipe, so it won't feel as smooth as a bubbler. Lighter bodies like Peach and Periwinkle also show resin sooner than Black or Amber.
Care and Cleaning
We give ours a salt and alcohol shake every couple of weeks. Put the cooled pipe in a zip bag with 91% isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt, shake, soak briefly, then rinse warm and air dry.
Warning: Let the pipe cool fully before cleaning. Cold water on hot glass can crack it, and dishwashers are a hard no.
Common Questions
- What are the little glass bumps on the head?
- Those are two clear glass marbles fused to the side of the head. They give your fingers a landmark when you pick up the pipe, and they help stop it from rolling across a table. They're solid glass and part of the pipe, so they won't come loose with normal use.
- Which stripe colors come with each body color?
- Red has silver-blue stripes, Green and Peach have blue and white, and Periwinkle has red and white. Amber has blue stripes, and Black has blue with white sparkle frit. Choose the body color at checkout and the stripes come with it. Spacing varies a little since each is hand-worked.
- Is 5 inches too long for a pocket?
- A 5 inch spoon fits most jacket pockets and bags, but it's snug in jeans. It's a step up from a 4 inch travel spoon, with more grip and a slightly cooler pull. If you carry it often, a soft pouch keeps the marbles and the rim from knocking into keys.
- What is the difference between frit and linework?
- Frit is crushed colored glass fused onto the body for an all-over tint. Linework is thin rods of colored glass laid on as stripes. This pipe uses both: the frit gives the base color and the linework spirals over it. Neither one is paint, so neither will peel.
- Which color shows resin the least?
- Black shows resin the least, followed by Amber. Their dark bodies hide buildup for weeks. Peach and Periwinkle are the lightest and look best with a clean every week or so. All six clean up the same way with 91% isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt.
- Does it need a screen?
- No screen is required, since the bowl hole is small enough for a medium grind. If you like a finer grind, a brass or glass screen fits in the bowl and keeps small bits out of the stem. We usually just pack coarse flower on the bottom and finer on top.
- Is there a carb on this pipe?
- Yes, there's a carb on the side of the head. Cover it with your thumb while you light and pull, then release it to clear the smoke from the stem. The marbles sit nearby, so you can find the carb by feel after a couple of bowls.
