2" 14mm Color Scalloped Flower Bowl: the scalloped rim is grip, not decoration

Somebody hands you the pipe, the slide is hot, and you have about a second to pull it cleanly. That is the moment a scalloped bowl earns its keep. The ridges around the outside give your fingertips somewhere to sit, so you are not pinching a smooth cylinder that wants to slip.

Product at a glance

A colored glass slide, 2" long, with a 14mm female joint and a scalloped outer profile. Stock on this one is light, which is worth knowing before you plan around it.

  • Joint size: 14mm
  • Joint gender: Female
  • Length: 2"
  • Material: Glass
  • Profile: Scalloped, colored
  • Fitment: Drops onto 14mm male joints
  • Shipping weight: 6.0 ounces
  • Availability: Limited quantity on hand

We stock a lot of slides and most of them are variations on the same tube. The scalloped shape is one of the few changes that does something. The waves in the glass break up the outside surface, so heat has more places to shed and your fingers have more places to land. It also means the bowl does not roll off a table the moment you set it down at an angle.

Fitment first, though, because a beautiful bowl in the wrong size is a paperweight. This one is female and 14mm. It goes over a 14mm male joint. If your pipe has a hole you drop a bowl into rather than a stem you drop a bowl onto, this is not the part you want, and we would rather tell you now.

Why we keep it in the case

Grip that survives heat. The scalloping is glass, not a rubber sleeve, so there is nothing to melt, peel, or start smelling after a month.

Color that reads on the shelf. Easy to identify at a glance if you own more than one slide, which most regular flower smokers do.

It sits still. The flat spots between scallops stop it rolling toward the edge of the table.

Standard joint, no surprises. 14mm female is the most common bowl fitment we sell, so it works across a lot of pipes.

Small run. There are only a handful of these on the shelf at a time. That is not a sales line, it is why the quantity field says what it says.

Put simply

This is a 2" colored glass flower bowl with a 14mm female joint and a scalloped outside. It weighs 6.0 ounces packed, ships as a single version, and is meant for flower in any pipe with a 14mm male joint. Quantity on hand is small.

Benefits

  • Scalloped sides give a real grip when the bowl is hot
  • Standard 14mm female fitment covers most water pipes
  • Colored glass is easy to tell apart from a clear spare
  • Does not roll when you set it down
  • Glass keeps flavor neutral session to session
  • 2" keeps the profile tidy in the joint
  • 6.0 ounces of shipping weight for a small part means solid walls
  • Takes an alcohol soak without any finish lifting
  • Works as an everyday slide or a backup
  • No assembly, no extra parts required

In practice

Seat it with a gentle twist, pack it, and pull it straight up when you clear. Do not rock it side to side while it is hot. Glass joints wear from grinding, not from use.

If you smoke with other people, this is a good bowl to make the house slide. Everyone can find it, everyone can hold it, and nobody is fumbling a smooth tube over a hard floor.

Pro Tip: Keep a second slide in the drawer even if you love this one. Bowls break long before pipes do, and having a spare turns a broken night into a two second swap.

Who it suits

Butterfingers. You have dropped a slide before and you want texture on the outside this time.

Group smokers. Passing means more hands, and more hands means grip matters.

People with a matched setup. You want the colors on your gear to line up.

FAQ

What does scalloped actually mean here?

The outside of the 2" bowl is shaped in rounded waves instead of a smooth cylinder. Those waves are worked into the glass while it is hot. They add grip and a little surface area, and they keep the bowl from rolling away when you set it down on a flat table.

Does it fit my pipe?

It fits any pipe with a 14mm male joint, since this bowl is the female half. Hold your downstem or joint next to a ruler. Fourteen millimeters is roughly the width of a pencil. If the joint is noticeably wider, you are probably looking at a larger size and this will not seal.

How much does it weigh?

Shipping weight is 6.0 ounces. For a slide that only measures 2", that is a reassuring number, and it tells you the walls are not thin. Weight is the closest thing to a durability spec on a small glass part, so we list it rather than leaving you guessing.

How many do you have?

Stock is in the low double digits, so this is a small run rather than a bulk item. When they are gone we may not get the same colors back, since colored glass runs vary. If you want a matching spare, it is worth buying both at once rather than coming back later.

Will the color come off?

No, the color is part of the glass rather than a surface coating. That means alcohol soaks, salt scrubs, and daily heat will not strip it. A coated bowl would discolor around the rim within weeks. This one will just get dirty and then get clean again.

Can I use it for concentrates?

No, this is a flower bowl and nothing else. Concentrates need a banger or a nail built to take a torch, and a flower slide will not survive that kind of direct heat. We carry bangers and nails separately if that is the direction you are heading.

How do I clean the scallops?

The grooves rinse out easily because they are on the outside, not in the airway. Soak the whole bowl in isopropyl, then use a cotton swab along the ridges and a pipe cleaner through the hole. Rinse with warm water until the alcohol smell is completely gone before you pack it again.

Care and maintenance

Cleaning a slide takes five minutes. Drop it in a cup of isopropyl with a spoon of coarse salt, cover it, and shake. Leave it if it is bad. Then rinse thoroughly, run a pipe cleaner through the airway, and stand it up to dry.

Warning: Never put a slide in the freezer to harden the residue and never blast a hot bowl with cold water. Fast temperature changes crack glass, and on a small part the crack usually runs right through the joint where you cannot see it.
