We see a lot of flower bowls shaped like plain funnels because a funnel is the easy answer. A sculpted bowl takes longer to make, because the artist has to build the character around a working bowl without narrowing the pull or leaving a wall thin enough to crack. Packing and Pulling

We tell people to twist it into the joint gently and stop at snug. Sculpted glass has more surface catching your fingers, which makes it tempting to crank it in harder than a plain bowl. Do not.

Pack it the way you would any bowl: airy at the bottom so the pull is not strangled, tighter at the top so the cherry holds. Corner it. Burning the whole surface on the first hit wastes half of what you loaded, and on a sculpted bowl the extra heat lands on detail work you paid for.

Pro Tip: Set it down on a soft surface, never rim-first on a counter. Sculpted glass has raised points, and those points are where a drop concentrates all its force.

Is the sculpt separate from the bowl?

No. It is one piece of glass, sculpted as a character, measuring 2.5" overall. Nothing is glued on and nothing detaches, so there is no seam to trap resin or come apart in a cleaning jar. You clean it exactly the way you would clean an undecorated bowl.

Does the sculpt make it harder to clean?

The bowl and the airway clean normally in an alcohol soak, since the glass is one continuous piece. Raised detail on the outside can hold fingerprints and ash dust, so give the outside a wipe with a soft cloth after rinsing. A cotton swab reaches anything a cloth misses.

What joint does it need?

How big is it in the hand?

Will the colors fade with heat?

Color in worked glass sits in the glass, not on it, so normal smoking heat and alcohol cleaning do not lift it. What does damage glass is a sharp temperature change, so let the bowl cool on its own instead of rinsing it hot. Treated that way, it keeps its look.

Can I use it for concentrates?

No. This is listed for flower smoking only, and a flower bowl is the wrong tool for concentrates in both shape and heat handling. Concentrates need a banger or a nail built for direct torch heat. Loading wax into a glass flower bowl usually ends with a ruined bowl.

Keeping It Clean

Empty the ash while it is still warm and rinse under warm water. For a real clean, seal it in a jar with isopropyl alcohol and coarse salt, shake, and let it soak until the resin lifts. Rinse well, then let it dry completely before you pack it again.

Dry the detail work with a soft cloth rather than a paper towel, which shreds and leaves fibers in the sculpt. If the airway narrows, a pipe cleaner run through slowly clears it without scraping.

Warning: Do not put this in a dishwasher or pour hot water over it straight from the tap after it has been sitting cold. Glass fails from thermal shock long before it fails from smoking heat, and sculpted pieces have thick and thin sections that expand at different rates.
