An 8-inch dab rig modeled after a Japanese sake bottle silhouette with encalmo color work — bands of color fused into the body during forming.
Encalmo is a glassblowing technique where bands of color are fused into the body of the piece during forming, not applied to the surface. It's labor-intensive — each band is hand-positioned — and it shows in the final piece. We've paired that technique with a sake bottle silhouette here, which gives you a rig that reads as art glass on the shelf but still functions for daily dabs.
Includes a FREE quartz banger
Every dab rig at Oil Slick Pad ships with a free 14mm quartz banger so you can take your first dab the day it arrives. No add-to-cart needed.
Collectors of Japanese-influenced glass art. Daily smokers who want a rig with a distinct profile. Also good if you have limited shelf space — the narrow silhouette stores neatly.
Worth Noting: The narrow neck is the most delicate part of the piece. Don't grab the rig by the neck when picking it up — hold the body. Same goes for storage; bottle-shaped rigs sit best upright with the body supported.

This is an 8-inch borosilicate dab rig shaped like a Japanese sake bottle with encalmo (banded) color work fused into the body during forming. It has a 14mm female joint and functions as a working rig — water chamber, percolation, and a matched quartz banger included.
Drain water after each session. For deep cleans, fill with isopropyl alcohol and a tablespoon of coarse salt, plug both openings, and rock the rig gently rather than shaking — the narrow neck is the weakest point. Rinse with hot water, let it air-dry standing upright with the body supported.

Encalmo is an Italian glassblowing technique where two or more bands of color are fused together during forming. The result is a piece with distinct, clean color sections rather than scattered or swirled work. It dates back to Venetian glass tradition.
Mostly. The narrow neck cools vapor slightly more than a straight tube would, but the main reason for the shape is the visual reference. The wide base does add real stability.
It's a smaller piece — 8 inches with a narrow body. Heady pieces price by size, complexity, and the amount of color work. This one has clean encalmo bands but a compact profile, which keeps the price approachable.
Standard care, but don't lift the rig by the neck. Always hold the body. The neck handles heat and water just fine; it's just thin enough that a sideways bump could crack it.
