Empty ash and rinse with warm water after each use. For deeper cleaning, fill with isopropyl alcohol, plug the joints, and shake gently. Let it soak for 20-30 minutes for stubborn buildup, then rinse thoroughly. A clean ash catcher means less cleaning for your main piece.
Check two things: joint size (10mm, 14mm, or 18mm) and joint angle (45° or 90°). Both need to match your bong's joint. If your bong has a 14mm female joint at 45°, you need a 14mm male ash catcher at 45°.
Just enough to cover the percolator slits - usually about half an inch. Too much water adds drag and can cause water to flow back into your bong. Less is more here.
Absolutely. It catches ash and resin before they reach your bong, which means cleaner water, smoother hits, and way less cleaning. Think of it as a pre-filter for your piece.
