Downstems — Replacement Downstems for Bongs & Water Pipes

The downstem is the tube that connects your bowl to the water in your bong. It is one of the most commonly replaced bong parts because they are thin, removable, and prone to breaking during cleaning. Our downstem collection makes finding a replacement easy with options in every standard length and joint size.

We carry simple open-end downstems and diffused downstems with slitted or multi-hole bottoms. Diffused downstems break your smoke into smaller bubbles as it enters the water, providing smoother hits compared to a basic open tube. If you are replacing a broken downstem, upgrading to a diffused version is worth considering.

Measuring for the Right Fit

Downstem length is measured from the bottom of the ground glass joint to the tip of the stem. You need to match both the length and the joint size of your bong. The joint at the top (where it sits in your bong) is usually 14mm or 18mm, and the bottom (where your bowl sits) is typically the same size or one step down. Measure your old downstem if you still have it, or measure the depth of your bong's joint slot.

A downstem that is too long will sit on the bottom of your bong and will not seal properly. One that is too short will not reach the water. Getting the right length matters, so measure carefully before ordering.
